The National Youth STEM Consortium (NYSC) is a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of scientists, innovators, and environmental leaders across Pakistan. Our mission is to inspire and equip young minds with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to tackle global challenges through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through national-level events like the STEM Olympiad, vaccine awareness campaigns, and environmental initiatives, we foster collaboration, creativity, and community impact. We believe in the power of youth to shape a sustainable future, and through our programs, we aim to cultivate leadership, spark innovation, and drive positive change in Pakistan and beyond.

(1) Nationwide Vaccine Hesitancy Campaign
In 2023, NYSC launched a nationwide vaccine hesitancy campaign aimed at combating misinformation and increasing vaccination rates across Pakistan. The initiative targeted both urban and rural communities, educating the public on the safety and effectiveness of vaccines through workshops, social media outreach, and partnerships with healthcare professionals. By providing clear, science-based information and addressing common concerns, we were able to reach over 5,000 individuals, particularly in underserved areas, and contribute to the national effort to promote public health. The campaign’s success was marked by increased community engagement, greater trust in vaccines, and a noticeable shift in attitudes toward immunization. Through this project, NYSC demonstrated the power of youth-led initiatives in fostering informed communities and improving public health outcomes.
(2) Plantation Drive
As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, NYSC organized a Plantation Drive in 2022, aiming to combat deforestation and promote green spaces in Pakistan. The campaign involved the planting of a diverse range of plants, including fruit-bearing trees like oranges, shade trees, vibrant flowers, and Teak plants. Volunteers from all over the country came together to enhance local ecosystems, improve air quality, and provide long-term benefits to communities. With around 500 trees and plants planted in both urban and rural areas, the initiative not only contributed to environmental conservation but also raised awareness about the importance of nature in maintaining a healthy and sustainable future. The drive showcased the collective power of youth in making a positive environmental impact.
(3) SciFest - A STEM-Based Competition for High Schoolers
In 2022, NYSC organized SciFest, a dynamic STEM-based competition aimed at high school students across Pakistan, showcasing the creativity and innovation of young minds. Students presented various science-based experiments and projects on topics ranging from robotics to environmental sustainability and biotechnology. Through hands-on project-making and problem-solving, SciFest provided a platform for students to explore STEM fields and collaborate on real-world issues. The competition not only fostered a passion for science but also empowered students to think critically, innovate, and present their ideas to a broader audience. SciFest proved to be a significant milestone in fostering the next generation of Pakistani scientists, engineers, and thinkers.
